What is the Friendship Circle?
The Friendship Circle (FC) of Greater Mercer County was established in 2010 with the goal of providing support and assistance to people with disabilities and health issues in our community. These issues include physical and mental disabilities, prolonged illnesses such as cancer, and other health needs. FC offers social programs and activities, a resource referral program, special education seminars, parent networks and respite opportunities, and special needs planning including trust wills, guardianship and health insurance. Our organization also engages in advocacy for people with special needs and their families.
The FC aims to create a special-needs friendly community by building education and awareness through our volunteer programs and school curriculum. This year, FC launched Expo: Friendship, a resource fair and networking opportunity for special needs families and service providers coupled with an educational seminar on key issues surrounding daily life.
